Philipp joined LSP as an analyst in 2021. Philipp is part of the LSP investment team focused on private companies and is involved in all stages of the investment process, especially deal flow screening and scientific due diligence. 
 
Before joining LSP, Philipp was an analyst in the Biotechnology team at M Ventures, the corporate venture capital branch of Merck KGaA. At M Ventures, Philipp supported the team in all aspects of the fund pipeline, including scouting, deal flow, due diligence, portfolio company support and exits.
 
Philipp received his PhD from the University of Oxford in the Wellcome Trust Cellular Structural Biology program. His research focused on protein crystallography of eukaryotic membrane proteins, biophysical characterisation of these proteins, as well as the in vitro generation of conformer-specific synthetic nanobodies against membrane protein targets. Philipp's research is published in several renown journals. Prior to his PhD, Philipp studied Biochemistry at Imperial College London, during which he also undertook research at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry. Philipp lives in Munich.
